The Upload button stores it in the Rochade Repository.  The Download button in Edit Mode allows you to view the file to make sure what is really there.  And the Delete button will delete the attribute contents completely. 

When Blobs are downloaded, you can have their applications automatically run.  For instance, if you store a MS Word document in an attribute, then when you click the download button, it will download your document and run MS Word displaying your document!

This is true for Excel, PowerPoint, and just about any file type.  Store the file, click the icon, and it automatically runs and dispays on your PC!

Also, you can "reserve" or "check out" blobs, so you can lock others from updating it while you are in the process of changing it.  Only RoAccess allows the locking of blobs.  If your Item has 10 blob attributes, all 10 can be locked independently by different people!  

Rochade and ASG's Web Access do not support locking  or releasing a blob attribute.  They can only lock at the entire Item level.
