RoAccess Rochade WEB Server Home Page

Item Status is Now Color Coded
RoAccess has always been helpful because it has displayed so much information on a single page

Now provides additional information by color coding it

When listing Items (the left side of the screen capture below), their Status is color coded:

  • Active/Referenced - BLACK
  • Active/Unreferenced - GREEN
  • Inactive/Referenced - BLUE
  • Inactive/Unreferenced - RED
  • At the top is the message:  Items of Type PERSON (All).  This indicates you have selected All classes of Items to be displayed.  This will include all the variations of active and inactive.  The Item Type is PERSON.

At the bottom of the Item List is a summary showing the number of Items that your optional wild card and the desired Item Status found, plus a legend showing the color codings.

See below for more information on how this can make dealing with Inactive items a pleasure.

    Manipulating Inactive Items

There are several ways that beings an Inactive Item into existence
  • Having a link attribute point to a nonexistent Item.  This creates an Inactive/Referenced Item.  This could be caused by misspelling the target Item name, or as a way to indicate that later an Item by this name needs to be created.
  • Then deleting that link, will change the status to Inactive/UnReferenced
  • Having an Item with NO text attributes with data.  This can be caused by writing a value attribute to a nonexistent Item.
  • Inactive Items do not exist.

How do you make Inactive exist (become Active)?

First, on the Type List screen in Edit Mode, select the "Inactive/Unreferenced/ Inactive/Referenced or All Inactives from the Status Qualifier Pop-up..  Then click on the Item Type that you want to search for Inactive Items.

The list will be displayed.  Then merely click on an Item Name.  This will bring up a data entry form in the right frame that if filled in and saved, will convert this Inactive Item to Active.

    It's that easy.

How do you find the Item that is referencing the Inactive/Referenced Item?

Again, bring up the List of Inactive Items in Display Mode.  Click on one of the Items to bring up an Item Display on the right frame.  It will tell you that this Item does not exist, but at the bottom will show all the Items that reference it.  It is these Items that are causing the Item to be Inactive/Referenced.

How do you delete an Inactive/Unreferenced Item?

Using the steps above, make it Active, then delete it as you would any other Item.
