Operating Systems:
Runs under virtually any WEB server under Windows NT Server, 2000 Server, 2000
Professional, Server 2003, XP Pro, AIX, HP/UX, Solaris Sparc Unix.
-
A WEB server. Examples of WEB servers are: iPlanet, Netscape Enterprise,
IIS 4.x and IIS 5.0, etc., Apache, Lotus. You do not need to load any special
modules, like java, JSP engines, server includes, etc. RoAccess will run
on the basic WEB server as the WEB server is delivered to you.
-
Your Rochade Repository is meant to be an Enterprise Wide
server, and you will start adding more and more functionality (like document
management and dissemination) and more users over time. Also, some
reports, like impact and involved path reports plus general queries, return a
great deal of Rochade data, and the processing can be time consuming. The
WEB server machine should be as fast as possible and the more CPUs the better.
CPU speed is far more important than disk I/O, since WEB applications primarily
are CPU intensive. Unix machines seem to run much faster than a Windows
machine at the same CPU speed. We recommend Unix machines of at least
dual 400 MHz, but quad 1 GHz is recommend. For Windows servers, we
recommend a minimum of one 1 GHz CPU, but suggest 2 GHz and 2 to 4 CPUs.
-
Requires PERL 5.006 or later (free) on you WEB server machine
-
If your WEB server is to run on a Windows platform , you already have everything you
need from an Autopilot installation. RoAccess uses the standard Autopilot
client you use. If your WEB server is to run under Unix, you will need the
Rochade "batch client", which comes with Unix versions of the Rochade database.
-
A Rochade Repository server that is accessible over the network or on the same
machine
-
Rochade user IDs must be a maximum of 8 characters. The "Member" and the
Rochade User ID must be the same. This is because there are two ways to
log into Rochade, and you would need to use two different user ID's if they are
different. Also, some parts of Rochade do not work with IDs greater than 8
characters.
-
L-type links are partially supported because the many problems the have caused in the past.
They will be fully supported in release 6.0
