User Friendly Attribute Names
Business Users Don't Like Technical Terms.  You know this.

Which would your Business Oriented User prefer for an attribute name: GEN/REF-CONSTRAINTS or "Generic Item Referential Constraints"?

You can even have the same attribute name have different User Friendly Attribute Names in different ItemTypes!

First let's review what the standard RoAccess Display Screen looks like and see the improvements that are possible:

 User Friendly Attribute Names:

The following Standard RoAccess Display Screen displays a "user friendly" version of the  attributes names.  These can have mixed case, spaces, punctuation, anything to make the attribute names "user friendly".  The correspondence is done in the configuration file, with no programming needed.

For example, the last attribute on the display is really PHONE_NUMBERS, but is displayed as "Telephone/Cell/Fax Number". Now isn't this much nicer?

Also, if an attribute, like DEFINITION or DESCRIPTION, is in multiple ItemTypes, each occurrence of the attribute can have a DIFFERENT user friendly attribute name.   Example:  ItemTypes SCN/PROGRAM and PERSON both have DEFINITION.  The displayed user friendly attribute name for DEFINITION can be different for both!  Now you can have DEFINITION mean what is most meaningful for each ItemType.

Below shows the standard RoAccess Display Form, but with User Friendly Attribute Names instead:

In the above screen capture, note that the user friendly attribute names can have mixed case, spaces and punctuation to increase their readability.
